The best small cars for reliability in 2012
Improved fuel economy figures and lower CO2 emissions, that equate to cheaper fuel costs and car tax, have contributed to the growing popularity of the superminis.
Reliability is another key reason to buy a small car - they regularly claim the top spots in our annual reliability survey. In fact, the average reliability score of all the small cars reported on in the latest Which? Car Survey was an impressive 89%.

Most reliable new supermini: Citroen C1 (05-)
The Citroen C1 has topped the reliability charts for the past two years, with owners awarding it a score of 96.9% in the latest poll.
And not a single breakdown was recorded throughout the year, meaning you can be pretty confident this little city car will get you from A-to-B successfully, if it's under three years old. There were some minor faults, such as split rainwater seals, but repair costs for these averaged out to just £8 for the year.
