Citroen BX la 40 de ani!

Dezvăluit publicului pe 23 septembrie 1982, cu ocazia unei ceremonii grandioase, la picioarele faimosului "Tour Eiffel", în fata mulțimii adunate pe "Champ-de-Mars", BX fost un concept inovator pentru acea vreme, reprezentând și un colac de salvare al firmei Citroen, fiind comercializat timp de 12 ani, in peste 2.3 milioane de exemplare.
Desenat de faimosul carosier Bertone, împreuna cu designerul Marcello Gandini, cu o înfățișare complet diferita de alte produse ale vremii (vezi Golf II, MB 190, BMW "ursuleț") a fost un succes imediat. Citroen a folosit pentru proiectare și producție soluții inovatoare pentru acea vreme: proiectare cu ajutorul calculatorului, materiale compozite in fabricarea elementelor de caroserie, tratamente anticorozive, motoare din aliaj ușor, parbrizul lipit ce mărește rigiditatea torsionala a caroseriei si contribuie la sporirea rezistentei, si multe altele, fara a uita renumita suspensie hidropneumatica. Toate aceste inovații au făcut ca BX-ul sa fie cea mai fiabila mașină a mărcii pana la acel moment, fapt care a ajutat la revenirea financiara a Citroen.
Dupa 40 de ani, mașinile supraviețuitoare beneficiază , în sfârșit, de o creștere constanta a aprecierii si interesului colecționarilor, unele exemplare mai rare, in special versiunea 16 supape, ajungând sa se vândă la preturi de peste 40.000 euro, inimaginabile acum 5 ani.
