Mitsubishi Motors and PSA Peugeot Sign Cooperation Agreement on All-New SUVs

Takashi Nishioka, Chairman of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and Jean-Martin Folz, CEO of PSA Peugeot Citroen, today signed the final cooperation agreement between their two companies concerning all-new SUVs.

The agreement plans the annual production in Japan of 30,000 units for PSA Peugeot Citroën’s needs, based on a Mitsubishi Motors’ platform currently under development.

To be launched in Europe in 2007, the new high-end SUVs will be well equipped with top-of-the-line comfort, handling and safety features. The Peugeot and Citroen models will be powered by Mitsubishi Motors’ newly developed gasoline engines with aluminum cylinder block and with PSA Peugeot Citroën’s latest-generation HDi diesel engines equipped with particulate filters. These fuel-efficient, low emissions diesels will deliver remarkable environmental performance.

In Japan, the Mitsubishi-branded model will be launched in autumn this year. In Europe, the models of the three brands Peugeot, Citroen and Mitsubishi (European version) will be unveiled at the 2007 Geneva Auto Show.

Designed with specific styles for Peugeot and Citroen, the new SUVs will broaden the Peugeot and Citroen product ranges and will enable the two brands to reach new customers by entering an expanding market segment. This project will target at European markets and countries where European-type cars are in circulation.

For Mitsubishi Motors, the additional volume for PSA Peugeot Citroen will enable the company to raise capacity utilization rates and to improve productivity. The company expects that this agreement would help accelerate the efforts to achieve the targets mapped out in the Mitsubishi Motors Revitalization Plan.

With this cooperation, Mitsubishi Motors and PSA Peugeot Citroen pursue a “win-win” strategy between collaborative partners.

Dar va fi vandut d-abia in vara lui 2007, daca e sa ne luam dupa ce scrie in articol.

Aceeasi masina va fi Peugeot 4007, am vazut pe site-ul automarket.
Pe de alta parte, tot acolo, am citit ca VW va scoate o masina de 6500 de euro. Abia astept sa vad ce va misca Logan-ul...

paco: daca va fi ceva de genul fox/lupo atunci loganul poate sta linistit, e mult mai mare si va fi preferat... de temut se pot teme matiz/spark/aveo/tripletii de ce-ar scoate vw

daca in schimb se pun nemtii pe treaba si scot ceva de genul beetle, atunci ar fi interesant...

C Crosser mi se pare foarte frumos, poate va fi noua masina de familie, ca tot vrem sa dam vectra pe un SUV. Ce suspensii are?

Suv-citroen interesant DAR cand asa ceva la noi ?? 2009-2010 ?? poate !! mai e pana atunci , oricum aduce mult cu chevrolet captiva , uite-ti o poza ptr cei care nu stiu cum arata captiva !!

de obicei costa mai putin masinile din ro
dar si in franta este numai o estimare a celor de la AutoJournal, deci nu e nimik oficial. Va rog sa retineti ca sunt numai parerile mele.

@DMX cu tot respectul, dar designerii de la daewoo (nu zic chevy ca sa nu supar) au MUUULTE de invatat de la designerii citroen, cele doua SUV-uri seamana prin faptul ca au 4 usi 4 roti etc, uita-te la capota, la faruri, la grila, la ce vrei tu, chiar si linia e usor diferita.
Astept cu nerabdare poze de la interioare, probabil ca si acolo s-au inspirat de la daewoo
De semanat seamana cu outlander si cu 4007, cu captiva mai greu...
din pacate daewoo ramane captiva plasticelor ieftine si design-urilor invechite, coafate usor dupa ultimele tendinte.
