Phantom Targets does not begin with a dramatic boss fight or a difficult scavenger hunt. Instead, it sends you looking for Cargo Elevator antennas, which sounds simple until you realise the game never clearly explains what a Cargo Elevator actually is. Many players waste their first raid checking warehouses, loading bays, and tall industrial buildings. The objective is tied to extraction platforms, not indoor freight lifts. Once that clicks, the task becomes much easier, and a little preparation with ARC Raiders BluePrints can also make the later missions less painful. You will need to visit an extraction point, climb to the upper platform, and interact with the antenna mounted there. The process takes only a few seconds, but the route and timing matter.
Where the Cargo Elevators Are Found
Cargo Elevator extraction points appear on Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, and Riven Tides. Each one has a raised structure with an antenna close to the outer edge. The location can look different depending on the surrounding terrain, so do not expect every platform to have the same layout. The most reliable clue is the extraction marker itself. When you arrive, look above the main level rather than searching the nearby buildings. A ladder, ramp, or set of stairs usually leads to the top. You may hear other players approaching, especially if the extraction point sits near a popular route, so take a moment to check the area before starting the interaction. It is easy to assume the antenna is missing when it is simply positioned on the far side of the platform.
How the Antenna Interaction Works
Reach the upper deck and move around the structure until you find the antenna. Hold the interaction button and keep your character in place until the progress bar finishes. Do not sprint away the moment the bar disappears. Give the game a second to register the action, then open the Phantom Targets Project menu and check the counter. The visual feedback is not especially helpful, and the antenna may look exactly the same after the upgrade. That does not mean the attempt failed. The project menu is the proper way to confirm progress. If the counter has not changed, try the interaction again from a slightly different angle. You may have released the button early, moved out of range, or started at a poor position near the platform edge.
Planning a Three-Antenna Run
Completing all three upgrades in one deployment is possible, though it is not always worth forcing the route. Dam Battlegrounds and Spaceport tend to be the better choices because their extraction points can be linked with a sensible rotation. Start with the nearest platform after spawning, then move towards the next objective while keeping an eye on noise and open sightlines. Avoid stopping for every container. The project only cares about the antennas, and extra loot can slow you down at exactly the wrong moment. Carry healing supplies and a weapon that works at medium range, since the upper platforms leave little room to react if another Raider appears. If the route starts to feel unsafe, extract after completing one or two upgrades. Progress carries between raids, so there is no need to turn a good run into a desperate one. Riven Tides is still a useful option when the other maps do not offer a comfortable spawn or when you already know the local paths.
Preparing for the Missions That Follow
The antenna task is only the introduction to Phantom Targets. Later objectives ask you to test ARC components and deal with enemies while using specific equipment. During ordinary raids, keep an eye out for Pop Triggers, Wasp Drivers, and Leaper Pulse Units instead of waiting until the project specifically asks for them. This approach saves time and prevents a frustrating series of runs focused on one missing item. Workshop improvements are worth considering as well. Better equipment gives you more room to recover when a fight goes badly, while useful attachments can make short encounters much more manageable. ARC Raiders Coins are also best spent with a plan. Hold onto some for upgrades or event-related purchases rather than using everything as soon as you return to the hub. You do not need a perfect loadout, but dependable healing, mobility gear, and a weapon you know well will help when an antenna sits in a busy extraction zone.
Final Thoughts
The first Phantom Targets objective is confusing mainly because its wording points players in the wrong direction. Cargo Elevators are extraction platforms, and their antennas are located on the upper deck. Visit Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, or Riven Tides, climb up, hold the interaction button, and confirm the result through the Project menu. A careful route can cover three locations in one raid, while a slower approach still works because the progress remains available across future deployments. Save useful resources, collect ARC components during normal play, and avoid fights that do not help the objective. Keeping a few cheap ARC Items ready for the tougher stages can also leave more room for upgrades and recovery gear as the event continues.
